Basmati rice <br />½ cup Urad dal split and polished <br />¼ cup Puffed rice (Poha) <br />½ tsp. Fenugreek seeds (Soak with Urad dal; optional) <br />Salt as required <br /> <br />2 tbsp. Ghee <br /> <br /> <br />Method:- <br />- Wash Urad Dal 3-4 times thoroughly and soak in warm water for a minimum of 6-8 hours. <br />- Wash the Rice 3-4 times thoroughly and soak in warm water for a minimum of 6-8 hours. <br />- Grind the soaked dal to a smooth paste with ½ a cup water. <br />- Grind the rice in the same jar to a coarse paste with ½ a cup water. <br />- Add puffed rice to this and grind again. <br />- Transfer the ground rice and ground dal to a bowl and add a cup full of water and mix well. <br />- Cover and place in a warm place overnight or 6-8 hours. <br />- Once fermented add salt to the batter. <br /> <br />Idli Batter for Soft and Spongy Idli is ready! <br />HAPPY COOKING!!!
